Graduate Student Advising

Graduate Student Advising

Academic advising for graduate CDM students is critical. Relationships with faculty advisors are especially important as these advisors help students shape their degree program and course choices to optimize opportunities for career growth and advancement, as well as to meet personal and professional development goals.

Graduate CDM students often utilize two types of academic advising in the College:

Faculty advisors in CDM are the primary academic advisors for all CDM students. Graduate students are assigned to a full-time CDM faculty member whose teaching area matches the student's program of study.

Professional advisors in the CDM Academic Success Center are another resource available to all students. These advisors assist students in their utilization of CDM and other University resources and they monitor all students' degree progress throughout their careers in CDM.

Meeting with an advisor at CDM is easy! Simply login to MyCDM an duse the online appointment system to schedule an appointment. Students may also contact the Academic Success Center for assistance in making an appointment. While emailing advisors directly is certainly also an option, we strongly encourage students to make face-to-face appointments whenver possible.
