Independent Study
Independent study courses give students a unique opportunity to pursue a course of study not commonly included in CDM's curriculum.
If you are interested in pursuing an independent study, meet with the faculty you want to work with to define the coursework and expectations. Registration for independent studies are initiated by faculty on the CDM Intranet (under the Faculty tab) once the scope of the course is agreed upon and require final approval from the Associate Dean.
For undergraduate junior and senior students, courses numbered 399 are titled "Independent Study" and require that the student and instructor work together independently on a specific topic or project.
At the graduate level, courses numbered 596 and 599 serve the same purpose. Additionally, some graduate programs offer research seminars or projects courses which require independent study registration. Contact your academic or faculty advisor for more information.
