Linda Knight served over seven years as Associate Dean, responsible for the college's admissions and advising areas, before returning to the faculty in the autumn of 2008. Despite unfavorable market conditions during her years as Associate Dean, CDM saw a 55% increase in a single year in new student enrollment at the undergraduate level, followed by another increase (this time in the mid-twenty percent range) on top of that the following year. At the graduate level, CDM increased market share from 36% to 44% in a declining market. In addition, CDM advising scores on the national ACT survey increased dramatically to record highs. Linda remains Director of DePaul CDMs Center for the Strategic Application of Emerging Technologies (SAET), a research group that explores leveraging new and emerging technology within organizations. She teaches and conducts research in the area of Information Technology strategy, development, and implementation. In 2006, she was honored to be named a Fellow of the Informing Science Institute. Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of IT Education, she is also Associate Editor of the Information Resources Management Journal, as well as Past President and Fellow of the Society for the Advancement of Information Systems, an affiliate of MBAA International. She is on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Cases on Information Technology (JCIT), and is also a member of the Information Resources Management Association Executive Council. She serves on MBAA International's Executive Board, this year as 2008 Program Chair and President-Elect. An entrepreneur and IT consultant, she has held industry positions in IT management and quality assurance management. In addition to a Ph.D. in computer science from DePaul CDM, she holds a B.A. in mathematics and an MBA, both from Dominican University. She is a native Chicagoan, a graduate of the Chicago Public School System, and the proud mother of two adult sons, one of them in the IT field (The other failed to see the light and became a physician).
