Academics

DePaul's School of Computing (SoC) offers nine undergraduate degrees and fourteen graduate degrees across the entire computing spectrum. Students can choose from a variety of technology fields including: software application development, computer security, business analysis, and network technologies. As a result of being housed within the College of Computing and Digital Media, the School of Computing also offers a number of degrees in multidisciplinary areas like human computer interaction, computer game development, and interactive media.

Our innovative curriculum is always at the forefront of the ever changing world of computing to provide our students with the most sought after skills to be competitive in today’s market. Our courses blend theoretical foundations with real-world examples and our facilities are kept continually up-to-date with industry-current equipment and technology.

Most courses offered by the School of Computing are supported by the home-grown Course OnLine (COL) system. COL integrates lectures playback with a comprehensive course management system that allows students the flexibility to review lectures or take courses entirely online. Many courses are offered online each quarter and many of our graduate degrees can be completed entirely online.

CDM's Undergraduate Programs reflect DePaul's focus on liberal studies with specialized and rigorous study in technology. Our degree programs offer academic options in technology, computing, and media that stay closely connected to emerging trends.

The BS/MS combined degree program allows academically gifted students to combine most SoC bachelor's degrees with a CDM master's degree in a shortened curriculum. Students take three master’s level courses in their junior and senior year that count toward both their bachelor's and master’s degree requirements.

Our Graduate Programs are designed for working professionals to advance their careers. Classes are offered in the evenings on the Loop campus and online. Many programs are also offered completely online.

Our Professional Development certificates offer short-term and specialized learning options for IT and Computer Science professionals to stay on top of the latest technology developments and trends.
