The Master of Science in Business Information Technology is a joint degree between College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) and the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business (KGSB).

MS in Business Information Technology 2008

The Master of Science in Business Information Technology program addresses today’s need for individuals who understand the core principles of both business and technology in corporations, health care institutions, and government agencies. Many of these people work as liaisons between the Information Technology department and a functional business unit. Others work within departments that are information dependent and rely heavily on information technology.

The M.S. in Business Information Technology also provides a solid base for those interested in moving their career forward through project management or information technology management positions.

Grade and GPA Requirements

Grades: Students must receive a grade of B- or better in each prerequisite course and a C- or better in all other courses.

GPA: Students must maintain a graduate level GPA of 2.50 or higher while pursuing their degree. Students will be not be approved for graduation with less than a 2.50 GPA. Students with a GPA of 3.90 or higher will graduate with distinction.

Prerequisite Phase

There is a single prerequisite course, IT 130 The Internet and the Web (Self Placement Test), which can be waived based on discussion with a CTI or KGSB advisor. Students must receive a grade of B- or better in the prerequisite course.

MS in BIT Admissions:

Students are admitted to the MS in Business Information Technology throughout the year. Applicants must chose to apply through only one of the two schools. Students applying through the College of CDM must possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (or be in the final stages of completing the undergraduate degree).

The primary criterion in determining eligibility for admission is previous academic achievement. Other factors, such as work experience and career progression, are also important and will be considered for admission.

Thus, although not required, applicants may wish to include letters of recommendation, a resume and other supporting material which they feel may give an Admissions officer a broader view of their achievements. International students are required to submit a recent (no more than two years old) TOEFL score.
