Summary

Principles, techniques and tools of object-oriented modeling, design, implementation, and testing of large-scale software systems. Topics include design patterns, application frameworks, architectural design, and the applications in the software development process to improve the extensibility, maintainability, and reliability of software systems.

Grading

Programs and Project(50%). There will be a deliverable every week. No late submissions will be accepted.

Midterm exam (15%)
Final exam:(30%)

Programming is a core component of this class. You can expect to put significant effort into the programming but should be able to have fun with it and learn good OO programming skills.

Class participation (5%)
This is an undergraduate class and students are expected to attend class most of the time.

Online Course Evaluations

Evaluations are a way for students to provide valuable feedback regarding their instructor and the course. They are a requirement of the course and are key to continue to provide you with the highest quality of teaching. The evaluations are anonymous; the instructor and administration do not track who entered what responses. A program is used to check if the student completed the evaluations, but the evaluation is completely separate from the student’s identity. Since 100% participation is our goal, students are sent periodic reminders over three weeks. Students do not receive reminders once they complete the evaluation. Students complete the evaluation online in CampusConnect.
