Grading

There will be weekly quizzes (for in-class students), three labs, a midterm, and a final. The course grade will be computed as follows:

In-class students:
Weekly quizzes: 20% (best 7 of 9, weighted equally)
Labs: 30% (data lab 8%, bomb lab 12%, buffer lab 10%)
Exams: 50% (midterm 24%, final 26%)

DL students:
Labs: 40% (data lab 11%, bomb lab 15%, buffer lab 14%)
Exams: 60% (midterm 29%, final 31%)
PLuS students may opt to skip weekly quizzes.



Prerequisites

Basic familiarity with structured or object based languages, such as, C, C++, Java, Python, etc. Some programming background. This can be fulfilled by any of the courses below:

Online Course Evaluations

A program is used to check if the student completed the evaluations, but the evaluation is completely separate from the student’s identity. Since 100% participation is our goal, students are sent periodic reminders over three weeks. Students do not receive reminders once they complete the evaluation. Students complete the evaluation online in CampusConnect.
