First Year Students

If you’re between the ages of 18 and 23 and plan to enter DePaul University as a new freshman undergraduate student, you are considered a first-year student.

Undergraduate applications for first-year admissions are handled through the DePaul University Office of Admissions. Transfer student applications are handled through the Office of Transfer Admissions.

How To Apply?

  1. Start the admissions process at the DePaul University Online Application Center ($25 application fee).
  2. Send the following information to DePaul University:
    - your high school transcripts
    - your high school counselor recommendation form
    - and your ACT or SAT scores.
  3. Contact CDM undergraduate representatives to discuss your admissions materials at:

Immunization Records

Immunization records are required for all registered DePaul undergraduate and graduate students. By Illinois law, all students born on or after January 1, 1957 and enrolled half-time (Undergraduate: 6 hours, Graduate: 4 hours) or more at a post-secondary institution must provide proof of immunization for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella (German Measles)

Get Involved at CDM: 

As a first-time freshman, involvement in CDM activities is vital to your overall success.

CDM Student Organizations
There are currently 14 official CDM student organizations. Students in CDM form support groups, social and cultural groups based on CDM majors, degree levels, technology interests, and student chapters of national organizations. Go to the Student Life section of the website for more information.

Undergraduate Research
Undergraduate students who are considering graduate school or are in search of hands-on experience to supplement their academic study may be eligible to participate in research projects at CDM. Undergraduate students can become part of research teams consisting of several faculty and graduate students and work together on different research projects. Experiential Learning
Experiential Learning - internships and co-ops are an ideal way to receieve college credit while acquiring the work experience essential to starting your career. DePaul CDM has a number of options for students interested in gaining such experience. Go to the Advising section of the website, if you'd like to read more information.
