CTA U-Pass

The U-Pass is an ID card that allows students unlimited access to all CTA buses and elevated trains during the academic quarter. U-Pass is NOT valid for travel on PACE suburban buses or Metra commuter trains.

Wed, September 10th: 8:00AM - 6:00PM
Thur, September 11th: 8:00AM - 5:00PM

If you cannot attend one of the above distribution dates, please visit the ID Card Service Office during their normal business hours on Mon-Thu 9:00AM-6:30PM and Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM.

I Don't Need The U-Pass

Full-time CDM graduate students enrolled solely in online learning or suburban campus (excluding Lincoln Park) courses for a given quarter automatically qualify for a U-Pass fee waiver. These waivers will be processed to students' accounts after the sixth week of the quarter unless a student chooses to retain the U-Pass. Email notices will be sent to students before waivers are processed.

Full-time CDM graduate students enrolled in at least one on-campus course at the Loop or Lincoln Park campus are also eligible for a U-Pass fee waiver. Waiver requests must be submitted online between the third and sixth week of the quarter.

The waiver request process takes just a second. Simply click on the link below and your request will be submitted. You will receive an e-mail confirmation about the waiver. All waivers will be processed after the sixth week of the quarter.

U-Pass waiver requests are not being accepted at this time. Waivers for the next academic quarter will be accepted after the third week of the quarter.
