    What We Do
    KaZoom Kids Books publishes interactive, multicultural children’s Books for ages 3 to 8. We are a dynamic, creative startup company whose mission is to bring greater diversity to children’s literature. KaZoom is launching its initial line up children’s book apps this April. This position of Book Design and Promotion Intern will help us bring our next wave of books to life. We are into the “WOW” of storytelling. And because we are launching this Spring, we will also be into the “WOW” of event promotions throughout the city.

    Job Description
    The intern will take the story and illustrations of a book and bring the project to life with audio, interactive action and where needed animation.  You will learn our proprietary software to create the interactive portions, and use the Adobe Creative Suite of products to fuel your other creative choices. Your goal is to make a child say, WOW, when he reads and experiences your book design.

    Additionally, we will host live events throughout the city over the 10 weeks of the internship. You will participate in the design, setup and implementation of these events. Everyone at the company will participate in the live events.  This is where children and their parents will be able to experience our stories and so much more. And, you’ll be able to see first-hand what children love or don’t love about the books to help improve your designs.

    This is a part-time, unpaid internship of 15 to 20 hours per week for 10 weeks.  There will be a $500 stipend at the completion of the internship.

    Skills Needed
    We are looking for a student who is majoring in the Digital Arts or Animation. You must be willing to learn to use our proprietary software. Training is provided. You must also be familiar with Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Suite Products or another animation software. Also, you should have an interest in children’s books. Must be personable and able to communicate well with other team members. You will work with the illustrator, project manager and events manager. In this position, you must be as comfortable talking to 5 and 6 year olds in the field as you are behind your computer.

    General Summary

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technology field and/or minimum1 year of data networking and telecommunications experience.

    • Basic knowledge of open source software, command line scripting and telecommunications.

    What is the position?  The Technology Associate role is part of our rotational program that caters to each new-hire’s interests and strengths, and is unlike any other opportunity currently in the market.

    How does it work?  A designated Resource Manager will work with you to customize and design your rotational program that leverages your skills and capabilities.     General Summary

    Under general supervision, install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems, servers, and storage platforms in support of business processing requirements. The System Engineer, Associate will perform hardware installations, operating system installations, and upgrades to operating systems and software packages. This position will be responsible for system services setup and maintenance, user administration, and end user support.     • Ensure data recoverability to meet RPO/RTO targets in support of business requirements.
    • Responsible for performing backup/recovery procedures, media rotation, off-site services, administration, monitoring, and reporting of the enterprise backup solution.

    • Assist in provisioning/maintaining datacenter hardware, including racking and relocating equipment.

    Responsibilities & Duties

    • Project manage and lead the technical aspects of system implementation process, including set-up, configuration, maintenance, modifications, and enhancements.
