Become a Student Ambassador

Join our team! CDM Student Ambassadors are current students enrolled in one of our degree programs who are ready to speak about their experiences and answer questions from prospective students about earning a degree at CDM. 

Role and Requirements

In order to apply, interested students must have completed at least one quarter as a student enrolled in a CDM degree program and must have at least one year remaining before graduation.

Candidates who meet these requirements should review the specific responsibilities and application process that aligns with their academic career.

Undergraduate Ambassador   Graduate Ambassador

All Student Ambassadors will have their picture, program of study, hometown, and a quote posted on the corresponding CDM Ambassador website.

Prospective students email via a secure system, which is sent to student ambassadors’ mail.depaul.edu email addresses. Student ambassadors are responsible for responding to these emails as they arrive.

Training

Student Ambassadors are required to attend a training session after they are selected for the position. Additionally, quarterly professional development trainings and team meetings are held throughout the year.

Undergraduate Ambassador

Areas of Outreach and Expectations

  • Must attend and assist with their school-specific (School of Computing, School of Cinematic Arts or School of Design) Admitted Freshman Preview Days (minimum of 2 during the academic year).
  • Student Ambassadors may be asked to volunteer and assist with additional prospective student events/visits as they are requested.

Student Ambassador Role at Events

  • Assist with setup, check-in, other event logistics
  • Participate in student panels
  • Support CDM campus tours facilitated by the Office of Undergraduate Admission tour guides
  • Interact with prospective and current students and answer questions about your student experience at CDM

Application Process

To be considered for a CDM Undergraduate Ambassador position, the following materials must be completed and received by Friday, April 26, 2024 at 5pm.

  • Completed online application
  • A brief essay explaining your desire to serve as a CDM Student Ambassador. After completing your online application, please send your essay to: Associate Director of Advising Katie Kull

Graduate Ambassador

Areas of Outreach and Expectations

  • Must attend and assist with all New Graduate Student Receptions (one each quarter).
  • Student Ambassadors are asked to volunteer for at least 1 additional prospective student event per quarter, such as CDM Information Sessions and Graduate Student Open Houses.

Student Ambassador Role at Events

  • Assist with setup, check-in, other event logistics
  • Participate in student panels
  • Interact with prospective and current students and answer questions about your student experience at CDM
