About
About DePaul Cinespace Studios
DePaul Cinespace Studios is the School of Cinematic Arts’ nearly 60,000-square-foot professional production facility, located in Chicago’s booming center for feature film and television production.
Our space includes six shooting stages complete with professional-grade sets, lighting and design; a Virtual Production Stage/LED Volume Wall; green screen cyclorama; and high-end equipment checkout. There’s also a Scene Shop, dressing rooms with hair and makeup stations, editing suites, classroom/collaboration areas, and ample storage and work areas to support any project.
DePaul distinguished itself from all other film programs in the United States when it formed its alliance with Cinespace Studios Chicago in 2013. At DePaul Cinespace Studios, SCA students learn filmmaking crafts and techniques from highly accomplished faculty and staff on industry-standard equipment mere steps away from high-profile network productions filming on the Cinespace Chicago lot. Both SCA students and alumni have found opportunities working on hit television shows including Fox’s Empire; FX’s Fargo; Hulu’s The Bear; NBC’s Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD; and Showtime’s Shameless and The Chi.

Getting Here
DePaul Cinespace Studios Shuttle
CDM provides shuttle service between DePaul Cinespace Studios and both the Loop and Lincoln Park campuses for students, faculty, and staff. The schedule is updated quarterly and can be found in the SCA Student Handbook & Production Guide.
The CDM Loop bus stop is located in front of the Barnes & Noble at the DePaul Center (1 E. Jackson Blvd.). The Lincoln Park bus stop is located in front of the Student Center, on the corner of Belden and Sheffield (please note that, due to being in a high traffic area, the shuttle might be parked in Lot H behind the DePaul Student Center). Please arrive at the stop at least 10 minutes early.
Students, staff, and faculty are all invited to ride the shuttle; however, priority seating will be given to those enrolled in classes at DePaul Cinespace Studios or on tours.
Track any DePaul shuttle using the Reveal Manager app.
Walking, Driving, CTA
Whether walking, driving, or taking public transportation, there are plenty of options to get to our offsite facility. Please note parking is very limited and all visitors must follow proper entry procedures.
Stages & Equipment
Stages
Our facility houses over 25,000 square feet of shooting space on six separate stages ( 21A, 21B, 22, 23, 24A, 24B) with numerous standing sets, a green screen cyclorama, scenic shop, props and indoor loading bay (stage 26).
To request time on one of the stages, please fill out the Project Information form and submit it to the Production Office at production@cdm.depaul.edu. After receiving a unique Project ID Number from the office, use Patron Portal to reserve the stage, pending availability. For questions, please contact cinespacestages@depaul.edu.
Equipment
Each stage at the facility has a "stage package" of lighting, grip, and power distribution to handle most productions. In addition to the stage packages, we have an extensive inventory of industry-standard motion picture equipment available to students both on the stage and on location. This includes tungsten, HMI, fluorescent & LED fixtures, hydraulic dollies, advanced rigging, advanced sound, production supplies and equipment carts.
Please visit our Equipment Centers page for more information and Patron Portal to make online Equipment Reservations.
