Bachelor of Science CS + X Degree Programs

students

DePaul University offers several interdisciplinary “CS+X” degree programs. These programs combine the core technical skills of the computer science curriculum with the foundational knowledge of a complementary program, “X.” CS+X programs effectively allow students to gain mastery in two subjects without the full requirements of a traditional double major.

Computing intersects with—and impacts—nearly every area of society and academic discipline. This creates a need in industry for professionals whose expertise spans computing and a discipline impacted by computing. The goal of CS+X programs is to train this new generation of professionals who are equipped with both technical skills and a deep understanding of another area.

As a graduate of a CS+X program, you will be a more socially aware and responsible software developer, as well as a tech-savvy social scientist, writer, or animator, to name a few possibilities. And, you’ll be prepared for a wide range of careers, whether in software development or —depending on your choice of “X”—digital humanities, geospatial engineering, digital archiving, analytics, technical animation, and more.

For international students: all CS+X programs are STEM-designated, which can qualify you to extend your post-graduation stay in the United States.
