Aside from teaching at DePaul, Juan currently works at Palo Alto Networks as a Malware Researcher. With the help of his team they attempt to identify new malware families, campaigns or actors. He reverse engineers the required samples in order to understand its functionality and if possible the purpose of the malware. He mainly deals with Windows binaries a long with Office documents, PDFs, Java applications and a bit of Android applications. His current goal is to become a better reverse engineer. Lastly his current research efforts are on becoming well versed on the Android OS and OSX Mach-O binaries.
