Bio and Research Information

Noelle Thomas is a distinguished production and set designer whose extensive experience spans film, television, opera, and theater. Recognized for her creative vision and meticulous attention to detail, Noelle's designs have played a pivotal role in captivating audiences worldwide. Her versatile film and television portfolio includes episodic network television, streaming series, commercials, and indie films. Noelle's passion extends beyond her professional achievements to education, where she has dedicated well over a decade to teaching and inspiring students in all aspects of design. In the classroom, she draws on her extensive industry experience to create a dynamic environment that not only encourages creativity but also maintains the high standards expected in the professional world. She focuses on equipping her students with the skills necessary for excellence, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the rigorous demands of the industry. Noelle's Production Design and Set Design professional credits include "CHICAGO MED", Seasons 8 and 9 for NBC Universal, with Season 8 receiving the 2022 Re Frame Stamp. The acclaimed "RESERVATION DOGS," Seasons 2 and 3 on FX and HULU, which garnered several awards including the Peabody Award and two Independent Spirit Awards. "STRONGHOLD" for Tuesday Films, "TENSILE STRENGTH OF AIR” for Liminal Films and the stop motion animated “MERRY CHRISTMAS DE PAUL” for Project Bluelight. "SOUTH SIDE" Season 3 on HBO MAX, "NIGHT SKY" Season 1 with Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, "EMPIRE" Season 6 for 20th Century Fox Television, and properties for "FARGO, KANSAS CITY" Season 4 with FX. Noelle's commercial design portfolio includes projects for Barstool Sports, IKEA, and Accenture. Noelle’s talent in scenic design has also been recognized with a Joseph Jefferson Award NE for Best Scenic Design for “AWAKE AND SING”. Noelle holds an MFA in Stage Design from Northwestern University School of Communication and a BFA in Scenic Design from The Theater School at De Paul University.
