Introduction to Cloud Computing Seminar
A one-day introduction to Cloud Computing.
DePaul University’s Introduction to Cloud Computing Seminar provides those interested in Cloud Computing with an excellent overview of what Cloud Computing is, what is required to implement Cloud Computing applications, and what are the job roles and disciplines needed to successfully implement Cloud Computing.
Cloud Computing is a new and different way of computing that takes advantage of high availability, high performance, scalable computing services that are provided on a self-service, pay-as-you-go basis over the Internet. A wide range of services are available today ranging from basic infrastructure hosting, to full development platform hosting to applications hosting. Cloud Computing can reduce the time it takes to bring a product or service to market by reducing application development and deployment time; reduce the cost of the IT services provided; and increase the flexibility of both the business and the IT organization. As with many great opportunities, Cloud Computing also presents many challenges and risks which IT staff and decision-makers need to be aware of.
The Introduction to Cloud Computing Seminar is ideally suited to those interested in developing applications using Cloud Computing, but is also well-suited for business and IT professionals who need a better knowledge of Cloud Computing. The seminar will be delivered using a combination of classroom lecture, on-line demonstrations, case studies, and on-line videos from key Cloud Computing vendors. Group discussions and exercises will be used to enhance the learning experience.
Participants in the Introduction to Cloud Computing Seminar can earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
