CDM Online Learning

Hectic travel schedule during the spring quarter? Register for an online section of your class. Looking for some face-to-face interaction with faculty and your peers? Sign up for an on campus class. Taking two classes a quarter? Limit your nights away from home by registering for one course on campus and one online.

DePaul CDM Online Learning programs are specifically designed to complement the busy lifestyle of working professionals. You can learn online, at your own convenience, wherever and whenever you choose, and complete a master’s degree without ever stepping foot on campus.

Through its unique Course Online technology, CDM offers over 80 online courses
each quarter and eleven graduate online degrees. A degree earned by an online learning student is identical to a degree earned by an on campus student. Graduate students who wish to complete their degree through online learning do not register for a special online degree. Rather, they apply for one of our regular accredited degree programs and then sign up for online learning courses. 

Course OnLine records all of the audio and visual portions of a professor's live lecture, and uses multiple screens to display all the elements for the student's viewing.

COL consists of three components:

Course Management System (COL Web)
The COL Course Management System is an online learning environment where students participate in their courses, interact with their instructors, and collaborate with their classmates.

Course Recordings
The Course OnLine (COL) lecture playback system brings the unique experience of an on campus DePaul CDM education to online students, and gives them flexibility in how, when, and where they learn.

Exams
CDM Online Learning students take paper-based exams in person at a DePaul campus or other approved location. In-person exams are required in order to assess student achievement and to ensure the integrity of the online degree programs. Most courses will require at least one in-person exam. Course syllabi describe specific exam requirements and schedules.
