Brandon Werwa

MFA in Animation

Hometown: Maineville, Ohio (Cincinnati)

Undergrad Degree: Wright State University, BFA Motion picture

Hello, my name is Brandon Werwa. I am finishing up my third year in the animation MFA program. I received my BFA in motion picture production from Wright State university in Dayton, Ohio. My short film The Disaster Mitzvah has been accepted into seven film festivals and been nominated for best animation. Since I was fourteen I've loved films and how people were able to tell intricate and complex stories with shot structures and being challenged visually to befold these images. When I was in undergrad I took an introductory animation course in the film school, and there I had discovered my love for animation, because I felt like I could do so much more with the medium than I could do with traditonal filmmaking. Since coming to Depaul I have come into my own more as an animator and learning how to use the tools for the medium to better my work. Feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to hearing from you, and sharing a love of animation!
