Monday - Thursday: 11:00am - 9:00pm
Friday: 11:00am - 4:00pm

Starting in the Spring 2020 quarter, tutoring will take place online. Before scheduling an online appointment with a tutor, please make sure you have everything you need to make the technology work. This includes a working webcam, microphone, speakers or headset, and an up-to-date web browser. Please contact Miles Jackson with any questions or concerns about tutoring appointments.

The CDM Tutoring Center provides services to support the academic success of undergraduate students and graduate students in introductory courses of their program in CDM. Free tutoring services are available during the fall, winter and spring quarters for undergraduate students and graduate students through foundation courses of their program.

Students are expected to:

  • Go to class, listen attentively, take notes and ask questions to clarify misunderstandings.
  • Review notes, practice problems and read textbooks.
  • Attempt problems on your own. If help is needed, contact the Tutoring Center. An appointment with a specific tutor can be scheduled through MyCDM.

My name is Alex Bakos, I am currently a second year MFA Game Design student, having previously completed all my undergraduate work at DePaul as well. In the past I have done design work for companies within Chicago to create a variety of games, ranging from 2D side-scrollers to educational games for high school students. My focus is on metaphorical and puzzle design, particularly how space within games can create meaning for players. I also have a passion for 3D character animation and recently completed working on a film with other DePaul students and teachers. In my free time I enjoy playing bass, and have a passion for sports and traveling, particularly to Greece where my whole family lives

Kirsten Bray is a second year graduate student of DePaul's Human Computer Interaction master's program. While receiving her bachelor's in Psychology she spent two years working in the Spelman College makerspace and interned at Microsoft Research the following summer working with wearable tech. She is currently gaining more experience with design, prototyping and user experience research tools and is available for tutoring in HCI introductory courses.

I am a Network Engineering Student at DePaul. I obtained my Bachelors from Governors State in IT. I enjoy networking and network security. I have a CCNA and am studying toward a CCNA Security. My favorite protocol is OSPF, but I’m decent with other protocols. I can help with TCP and IP oriented topics including security concerns and headers. I enjoy IPv6 and subnetting as well. I’m in my second year at CDM in the grad program, so hopefully I can be of assistance with your classes. When I’m not learning networking, I’m either doing CrossFit WODs(workouts), running, or cycling. I play around with python (the programming language) every so often.

Alfreda is pursuing a Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from DePaul. Prior to this role, Alfreda worked in the neuromarketing field, learning about the interaction between our minds and advertising. She has experience designing cross-platform research studies, statistical analysis, eyetracking, user research, and usability testing. Alfreda also codes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and started a Girls Who Code club last year where she mentored 15 middle-school girls. She has experience designing and building prototypes using tools such as Axure RP, the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), InVision, Sketch, and others. In her free time she enjoys spending time in nature, trying new restaurants in the city, and learning how to bike during rush hour.

I am Jing Li. I am a graduate student majoring in Information Systems with Business Intelligence concentration, and this is my last year at DePaul. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The Ohio State University, and I had a minor in Writing. Most of my work experiences include marketing analysis and market research, and I enjoy working on data analysis and visualizations too. Brandon Lopez is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree specifying in Animation. Brandon graduated from Rutgers University-Camden with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Animation, and holds the Eric Thivierge Award in Animation. While he focuses primarily in 3D animation and post-production, creating narratives that evoke emotions is his main goal. Anime culture is a great influence in his work, and he loves to talk about the latest film and anime premieres. Aside from animating, his main hobbies are traveling to try new food, and playing Final Fantasy XIV Online.

I am John W. Lynch. I am currently pursuing a Masters of Computer Science degree with a concentration in Software Development. I obtained my Bachelors in Computer Science on March 2019 from DePaul University. I have experience working in the industry of web development, and have used JavaScript and HTML to help create and maintain various websites. I have also been a tutoring assistant for computer science introductory courses at both the highschool and gradeschool level, and I am currently a teacher's assistant for a few introductory python courses at DePaul. Brandy K. Sanders is currently pursuing her MS in Human-Computer Interaction. Previously, she received her BA in Informatics with a specialization in Human-Computer Interaction, from the University of Iowa. Growing up as a military dependent has allowed her to see the different aspects of technology around the world. This made her passionate about problem solving, improving user experience, and impacting the overall interaction experience with technology. Past courses and research conducted has expanded her knowledge on how people interact with different pieces of technology. Through her studies in Human-Computer Interaction and Informatics, she possesses the experience of establishing requirements/deliverables, analyzing/deploying data, creating wireframes, and then producing prototypes to present to clients. Through this, she has developed an attention for detail and excellence in code quality to avoid excessive user trials before presenting results to the client.

Mahmoud Shehabeldin is an international student pursuing his master degree in Software Engineering with Software Architecture concentration. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science Applied to Business Management awarded from the French University in Egypt and Nantes University in France. He carries more than 10 years of experience in the Software Development industry working with leading organizations in banking. Most of the projects that he worked on were web-based related to Digital Banking (e.g.: Online Banking and Mobile Banking), which included a wide range of integrations between different systems.
