Undergrad Degree: Landscape Architecture at The Ohio State University

Hey there, I’m Amanda! I’m a full-time, second-year graduate student in the HCI program. I got my bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture at The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!), then went on to work in the film industry here in Chicago before finding my way to HCI. What sparked my interest? I have always been a dabbler, dipping my toe into all kinds of things: puzzles, coding, sketching, writing. You name it, I’ve tried it. DePaul’s HCI program has allowed me to utilize all of my interests, and even uncover new ones, while pursuing my master’s degree.

At the moment, I am interested in how the healthcare system can utilize user experience strategies to improve medical technology and patient care. I also have a special place in my heart for behavioral science, specifically habit formation. If you have shared interests, or just want to reach out and say hey, please do - I would truly love to connect with you!
