Bio and Research Information

Keely was the 2017 winner of the Cassian Elwes Independent Screenwriting Fellowship and a semi-finalist in the 2018 Women in Film | Black List Features Lab. Her edgy romantic comedy, PLAIN JANE, was a featured script on the Black List in 2016, was featured on the April 2017 edition of the Popcorn Talk Network’s vodast The Unproduced Table Read, was the featured script for the SAG-AFTRA | IFP Chicago quarterly table read in June 2018, and was selected for the Pitch at Industry Days at the 2018 Chicago International Film Festival. Keely earned a BA in English with a minor in political science from Indiana University, a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and an MFA in screenwriting from DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts. Keely practiced intellectual property law in Chicago for thirteen years before joining DePaul's School of Cinematic Arts as an adjunct professor of screenwriting in 2017. Keely is currently in pre-production on PLAIN JANE and is developing several additional short and feature film projects.
