Bio and Research Information

Samuel Crider began studying film and animation at Columbia College Chicago in 1986, later teaching and managing the computer graphics lab there. He then took an opportunity to work in the video games industry at Midway Games, where his first project was the evil circus themed arcade game CarnEvil. He was at the studio for almost 25 years, including during its transition in NetherRealm Studios. For most of that time was on the Cinematics team, producing visual effects for the storymodes of the Mortal Kombat and Injustice game series. In 2020 he decided to return to teaching and academic studies, pursuing his interests in game design, animation, and narrative.
