Bio and Research Information

Beth Day has been a casting professional for 22 years. Starting her career in 2002 working in independent features she soon moved to 20th Century Fox where she worked on blockbuster and award winning films (i.e. "Life of Pi"; "The Devil Wears Prada" & "The Simpsons Movie"). After seven years at the studio, she moved into freelance casting as an associate casting director. The first film she worked on after the studio was the 2014 Academy Award winner for Best Picture, "12 Years a Slave" working under casting giant, Francine Maisler. While continuing her work as an associate casting director with her mentor, Denise Chamian, she worked on television as well as film, making her a more well rounded casting professional. Again, working on big budget features like "Elvis", "Maze Runner", "13 Hours", and "Bumblebee" as well as large television series like "The Last Ship"; "Narcos: Mexico" and "See". In 2020, Beth decided to move her family back to her hometown of Chicago to raise her son close to family. But even with this change and the Covid 19 pandemic, she continued casting both remotely with LA based productions (Netflix's "Atlas") and Chicago based productions. Casting is both a profession and a passion for Beth and she considers herself lucky to have been able to build a long career doing what she loves.
