Bio and Research Information

Brandon is a Chicago native composer, orchestrator, and clarinetist. He recently released his debut album Plot 01, a compilation of the best hits from the original soundtrack of an imaginary film. Before that, he composed the score for the award-winning short film "Close Ties to Home Country," directed by Akanksha Cruczynski, which was featured at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. Brandon co-orchestrated Jonny Greenwood's Oscar-nominated score for "The Power of the Dog" Live Score-to-Screen event (presented by Netflix). Recently, he co-orchestrated Black Coffee's Madison Square Garden debut, as well as Ricardo Romaneiro’s groundbreaking project, LIQUIDVERSE, at Cosm Los Angeles. He has also orchestrated for notable film composers such as A. R. Rahman, Joel Goodman, and Troy Herion. As a classically trained clarinetist, Brandon consistently records for his own projects as well as for colleagues. He collaborated with Inletaudio to create Clarinet Drama Textures, a unique library of clarinet sounds designed to add depth and emotion to various compositions. Brandon also recently recorded clarinet and bass clarinet remotely for composer Tom Howe. Brandon's extensive music studies started at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he focused on music theory and orchestration while being a member of the Marching Illini. He completed his Bachelor's of Music in Composition at Columbia College Chicago, studying under Grammy-nominated composer Ilya Levinson. Brandon received his MFA from Columbia College Chicago, where he was a graduate assistant to composer Kubilay Uner.
