Kristina Thomas, an East Oakland native, broke into the film world with a $50,000 win to direct a TV pilot for MTV/Endemol in New Orleans. She further honed her craft as a script coordinator on several shows like Greenleaf, Lovecraft Country, and The Haunting of Bly Manor (S2). Her feature script WORTH IT became a semi-finalist in the Women in Film/The Black List Feature Competition and BET’s Project Cre8. Her work has earned awards and recognition at prestigious festivals, including the HollyShorts Festival, Toronto Black Film Festival, BronzeLens Film Festival, and the Lady Filmmakers Festival.
Kristina also served as script consultant on two NAACP Award-winning comedy podcasts, YES WE CANNABIS and STRANDED for Broadway Video. Her television credits include Demimonde for JJ Abrams on HBO and FBI: INTERNATIONAL for Dick Wolf’s CBS drama. Currently, Kristina is developing WORTH IT while teaching at DePaul University, shaping the next generation of filmmakers.
