Bio and Research Information

Ron Eltanal received his B.A. from Williams College and his M.F.A. from the University of Southern California. He has written, directed, produced, shot or edited award-winning films that have screened at numerous festivals and competitions, including Sundance, Cannes, Torino International, LA Shorts and the Student Academy and Emmy Awards. Additionally, he has directed a feature film and music videos, written feature screenplays, and co-founded a non-profit theatre company. His short film "Nostalgic," starring Chicago film and theatre legend Mike Nussbaum, has screened or won awards at over 30 film festivals and competitions worldwide. At DePaul, he served as Chair of the Production/Digital Cinema Program from 2011-2019. His most recent project, "Tenure," is a TV series he wrote and is currently in development. It was accepted into the prestigious IFP Episodic Lab fellowship program and the TorinoFilmLab Extended Series. The show may or may not be semi-autobiographical.
