Bio and Research Information

Noelle Thomas is a production and set designer whose work spans film, television, opera, and theater. Known for her creative vision and meticulous detail, she has designed for episodic network TV, streaming series, commercials, and independent films, bringing a strong and adaptable design voice to every project. A dedicated educator with more than a decade of teaching experience, Noelle brings her industry expertise directly into the classroom. She creates an engaging, hands-on learning environment that emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and the professional standards students need to succeed in the field. Her production design and set design credits include NBC Universal’s Chicago Med Seasons 8 and 9—Season 8 receiving the 2022 ReFrame Stamp—along with the Emmy-nominated Season 3 and Peabody Award-winning Season 2 of Reservation Dogs on FX/Hulu. Additional credits include Amazon/Legendary’s Night Sky, HBO Max’s South Side, Empire Season 6, Noise Gate (in pre-production) The Lagoon, (Project Bluelight) Stronghold (Tuesday Films), Tensile Strength of Air (Liminal Films), stop-motion short Merry Christmas, and contributions to Fargo: Kansas City Season 4. Her design work for commercial clients include Barstool Sports, IKEA, and Accenture. www.designnoelle.com Noelle’s opera and theater designs include multiple productions across Chicago, with a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination and win for Best Scenic Design for Awake and Sing. She holds an MFA in Stage Design from Northwestern University and a BFA in Scenic Design from The Theatre School at DePaul University.
