Bio and Research Information

DePaul Adjunct Professor Jonathan Hey provides senior strategy consulting with game companies, streaming media providers and educational entities as Jon Hey Interactive. Jon Hey graduated from The University of Illinois in Music Composition - studying with Herbert Brün and Salvatore Martirano. He also studied jazz arranging with Michael Gibbs at Berklee and composition at Juilliard with Stanley Wolfe and David Diamond. Jon is an MBA graduate of The University of Chicago - Booth School of Business with concentrations in Marketing and Finance. Jon Hey produced some of history's most well-regarded video games such as SMASH TV and NBA Jam as a senior designer at Midway Games. (WMS, Midway, Williams Electronics, Atari). Jon is also the original voice of Mortal Kombat's Raiden character.

Recent work has been with Raw Thrills/Playmechanix (Fast & Furious Arcade Games, Big Buck Hunter Arcade Games) and Stern Pinball (most recently Game of Thrones Pinball).

A noted jazz pianist in the Chicago area, Jon plays, composes and arranges for The Mingus Awareness Project and is a founding member and musical director of "Deacon Blues" - North America's finest Steely Dan tribute band.

Jon also works with After School Matters in conjunction with the Chicago Opera Theater leading high-school students in musical productions.
