Digital Manufacturing
This course will provide an introduction to the physics and mathematics of digital manufacturing, including the representation of three-dimensional structures as mathematical objects, different coordinate systems, measurement and tolerances, the physics of materials and manufacturing processes, and modeling the behavior of objects in their environment due to heat or external forces. Also included in this course is a discussion of the ethics and legality of manufacturing objects that may pose a threat to society, violate intellectual property rights, or be environmentally unsustainable.
